There is no doubt that shows like SPACE: 1999 influenced sci-fi series in its portrayal of strong female characters, especially Dr. Helena Russell (Barbara Bain)- who received top billing alongside Cmdr. John Koenig (Martin Landau).
Barbara was interviewed for approximately one hour on NDB Radio, a blogtalk show this past weekend.
We have lifted the segment where I query her about her involvement in the original 1999 series & possible potential involvement in the upcoming 1999 feature film.
We will broadcast this segment as soon as our show, The Dr. and Mrs. Who, starts this coming Tuesday night at our new time- 9:00 to 10:30 pm (CST).
Just log into http://www.blogtalkradio.com/drandmrswho/2...-Dr-and-Mrs-Who and hear the show (the podcast will be available shortly after the show ends).
Enjoy,

Space: 1999 was a great show, but I favored Maya, the Psychon metamorph (portrayed by Catherine Schell), myself. =^[.]^=

We are trying to get something lined up with Nick Tate (Pilot Alan Carter from 1999) in October!
Stay tuned!
