Solution's blog is reporting that a bunch of bloopers are available for online viewing.

I have not checked it out, but here is the info:

If there are any real gems, clue me in so they can be hopefully "archived."

There's quite a few bloopers, mainly from the last couple of series, most of them are okay.

Amanda Tapping Says Stargate SG-1 Movie Is A Go

A few weeks back, I was rummaging around IMDB (The Internet Movie Database) working on a small task and I noticed something very interesting. Actors Amanda Tapping, Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks all have an “Untitled Stargate: SG-1 Project” in their credits.

Now mind you, IMDB isn’t the end all to all information but it’s a pretty decent start to most news.

So I had been wondering about this in the back of my mind because I thought the projects, though approved, were put on hold. Then I came across a tidbit on Sci Fi Wire where Amanda Tapping says that a new Stargate SG-1 movie could start getting underway as soon as Stargate Universe filming comes to a close.

Martin Wood is slated to direct with Carl Binder and Brad Wright writing (Per IMDB).

The last time we heard about the Stargate movies around a month ago, the strength, or lack thereof with the DVD market was weighing in on their decision on whether or not to move ahead with these projects. But the news about the newest Stargate SG-1 movie getting the green light is great news.

They must have heard the fans clamoring for more and now I find myself looking forward to when the next Stargate Atlantis film might get underway as well! Sorry… getting greedy.

Anyone watch Universe? Or should I call it Battlestargate Universica? wink.gif

It so unabashedly ripped off BSG that it's almost laughable and yet I kind of liked it.

It's basically if you take the premise behind Star Trek: Voyager and do it BSG style.

I've never gotten into the other Stargate shows but this one does appeal to me for some reason. It does seem like it's meant to appeal more to BSG fans than Stargate ones tongue.gif so maybe that's why.

What did anyone else think?

I actually kind of liked it. I just recently started watching the stargates so I am new to the gate verse. I loved BSG. Its hard to make any scifi show that is not compared to another scifi show. As fans we always want to compare it to something. I can see the comparisons, but it may be able to branch out on its on. I liked a few of the characters. So far I like Dr. Rush best. He has that whole secretive, brooding, can you trust him thing going on. I think I like Eli the everyman best next. It was good to see Sam Carter and Jack O'neil for a moment. I don't want them to constantly be on the show but it was nice to see them. I am going to watch the first few episodes and see how I like it.

To be honest, I don't think its like BSG at all, apart from camera shot wise, I'll give the show until the mid-season break to see if it's any good but from the pilot I'm a bit pissed that Stargate Atlantis was ended for this show. I just don't see this show lasting all that long (possibly 2/3 seasons) although it could surprise me, and last as long as SG-1 (unlikely I know).

I going to say something that will most likely upset all the BSG lovers out there but SG-1 and SG-A had much better writers than BSG, as the stories and charaterisations on Stargate were much better.

What BSG lovers? There are still some left on this board?

BSG really shined in certain spots and it had lots of potential but in the end, especially in the end, it fell completely flat. It suffered heavily from make-it-up-as-you-go-ism. Some of that is to be expected with any show but with BSG even huge plot points that changed the direction of the entire series were done on a whim.

When I say SGU borrows from BSG I mostly mean the 'dark and gritty' feel, the heavily flawed characters, in your face sex, dirty grimy old ship where everything doesn't work quite right, etc.

Plot wise it's a lot more like Star Trek Voyager at least in terms of their pilots.

I did like STARGATE ATLANTIS too!
Rodney, John, and Weir (for the first 3 seasons) were great.
Apart from Eli & Rush, no one is particularly endearing on UNIVERSE- at least not yet.
It was a shame that Lou Diamond Phillip's role was reduced to mere minutes.
I too thought that UNIVERSE was like BSG- from the duplicitous doctor (shades of Baltar!) to their trying to eke out an existence aboard the ship like the new BSG its first season.
Plus, a lot of dark sets, just like BSG.
Mind you, I am not knocking the show. It's just that this show has filled the void left by BSG!
I was a bit disappointed that the pilot did not have an effective closure, making it even more a space opera than BSG.
Would love to see John or Rodney in a cameo back on Earth!!!
Will continue to watch SGU!
