Looks like its going to be a good movie.

has anyone heard the audio of Christian Bale having a temper tantrum at the sound guy (I think) for ruining one of his "moments" in a scene?

Yeah, he had a bit of a prima donna fit when a lesser luminary in the production staff accidentally walked into a scene. You can probably Google it and hear the tape. He later apologized, but his tantrum marks Bale as a bit of a Hollywood tool.

Plus the fact it is now on a episode on Family Guy and someone has made it into a song. laugh.gif

I saw that....very funny. Didn't he do his venting on the Terminator set?

The preview rocks! I really can't wait for this movie. I love the fact that they are continuing making sequels.

Saw Terminator: Salvation, today. It was the movie I've been waiting 25 years to see, since the first one came out. It wasn't bad, but Christian Bale is an over-rated, scenery-chewing emo who reminded me more of a taller Tom Cruise than anything else in this one. Oh, and while I can happily ignore most unrealistic aspects of action/sci-fi, this one really hurt the end of the film with some medically-impossible BS.

Still worth a watch, especially for the kid who played Kyle Reese (same actor who played Chekov in Star Trek: He's got some range!). =^[.]^=

Uhm....gonna hafta disagree with ya there Ray...that kid gets on my last nerve. Anton Yelchin. <hack, spit> He was a sorry pick to replace either character with. But...that's just imho. Could have somethin' to do with the fact that both Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) and Pavel Chekhov (Walter Koenig) were my fav characters of either franchise so I'm pissed off that they couldn't find another actor, preferably one who didn't resemble a weasel, to play those characters. /rant

and I also thought Terminator Salvation was a much better movie than Star Trek.

The missus and I actually thought that the Kyle Reese role was well-cast; he reminded us of the young John Connor in T:2 (also kinda weaselly). Chekov was played a little over-the-top in ST.

As for T:S, I could ignore almost everything except the crappy ending. I'm still looking forward to the next one, but I'll bet money John Connor is hale and hearty (heheh...) in the subsequent installment. =^[.]^=

Sam Worthington was the best imho. That character, Marcus Wright, was played to perfection. I see great things in the future for him. As for John Connor, I was kinda disappointed in Christain Bale. I know he's a better actor than that. Maybe the part was written as an emo? Dunno...

Rhio and I agree about Marcus. It'll be interesting to see what other kinds of roles Worthington lands after this one. =^[.]^=

What has surprised me is that a lot of critics are saying that the movie is load and dumb and not much else.

Great actioner (though the junkyard scenery gets old, after a while), and it has a few cool bits (like where the resistance keeps their high command), but it was written for an audience which doesn't think, and petered out on a very slack note. ='[.]'=

Isn't this supposed to be the start of another trilogy?

I think that the box office numbers argue against that.

Watchmen dropped off as well after its open.

So it's box office has gone down then?

It was something of a bomb at Box office given the cost and expectations. I thought I heard that Warner already committed to T5 before 4 even was released, but I am sure they have loopholes and clauses that they can back out of it if they really want. Still, I suspect this film will do well on DVD and that might help. Given the reviews and opinions from various friends (and also the fact that the series, which was intelligent, was cancelled) I decided to pass but I will probably rent it on DVD at some point. It's an action flick and a big name and I can see people meandering in DVD stores and not knowing what to get just grabbing it because it's something of a known entity.

Sam Worthington is starring in James Cameron's scifi flick called Avatar which is currently in production. It looks interesting and worth a look.
