So... movie reviews, anyone?
I waited 25 years for this flick, since I always wanted more of the resistance-era stuff.
It was a decent action flick, though a little heavy on the junkyard chase scenes. The plot was predictably generic, and the acting ranged from pretty good (supporting cast) to scenery-chewing emo (Christian Bale). Bale came across as a taller Tom Cruise, actually. I think he has fallen into the trap of being a one-note. He could benefit from learning that Batman was his role in the
other movies.
Anyway, it was worth watching once, but lacked the heart or intelligence of the first couple of movies in the series. I could've done with more of how the humans survived (including how Skynet couldn't pick out human encampments by the ubiquitous fires they would set out in the open), but the ending was the biggest, lame-ass letdown. The whole movie was a setup for a "terminators can have a heart, too" message, driven home with an unbelievably stupid bit of medical BS which should have meant the end of the series, as far as John Connor as an action hero goes.
Three stars out of five, but I don't know if I could ever be persuaded to watch it again. ='[.]'=
