No I don't think she is particularly programed ... and there are other hint's... massive one's when Andy talks about the Turk and it's "moods" . Cameron's expression at a few key points in the ep before this one when dealing with her own mortality and the murder of her own kind.

QUOTE(Starbuck @ Feb 22 2008, 05:43 AM)

Or maybe he is just going on about in his deluded stat at how they can go bad , and connecting her to it because she was involved in his finding out about that?
I suppose but I think there must be more to it at least that is the impression I'm left with.
Because in the past we see her rescue him and we see him trust her enough to follow her to see John and then we see him time jump to the past. Where we see him call her a metal bitch just before she disarms him. But again he witnesses her rescue all of them then later after he's shot he's still upset with her and won't let her near him. This doesn't make any sense to me something is missing.
What we don't see or know about is the time he's lived from the moment he's arrived in the past to the moment the connors contact him. That's the time period I'm wondering about. This is where there must have been something that happened between him and her or him and a Terminator that is the same as her.

yes ... I was actually left with the impression that she did not remember him. That does support that something happed... something that led to her memories being scrubbed once again.

Feb 22 2008, 10:44 PM
Murder of her own... did she say that???
I hadn't picked it up... but I was tired.
Cameron did suggest that they could be re-programmed... and the concept of writing over a program with new stuff eliminating some of the old memory... possible.
What her ultimate program is.. as opposed to the "save John"single paradigm... to fight, instead of run... was that her target? Was that John's target? Is Cameron there to get him over/past/ through the death of Sarah?
I'm still wondering what of the Skynet programming she might be able to glean from the module...

Demon's Hand talk
I was glad to see some religious metaphors starting to crop up. The movies had so much of that, it would have felt odd to not have something of it in the show too.
Cameron dancing for herself was both a thing of beauty and a bit creepy. Sarah said that if the machines were ever to learn art by themselves, they would be us. I don't think that would stop them from destroying the world...
Derek standing in the grass with bare feet, staring out at the not-destroyed world was a little heartbreaking, especially since we went from that to him asking about Kyle. Poor little boy misses his brother.
There is talk from the producers/writers etc about possibly/maybe having a second season!! *glee*

That could mean that part of Cameron's mission is to humanize Skynet.
Where can I find the news of such 2nd season rumors?

I'm surprised to hear that this series sounds progressively even more obnoxious than when it debuted. I've read the same rumors, myself, and I hope for the sake of the series and those that enjoy it that the comparison is being unfairly made; being derivative would not be a good thing.
If not? Maybe Cavil and Skynet should go bowling and talk this through.
Incidentally? We now have
4,000 robots on the ground in Iraq.
And perhaps this particular item isn't so unrelated after all, since ultimately what's at issue is the development of robotics. While it's disapointing that they still look like ED 209 and Johnny 5, at least they don't look like Fanuc lazer turrets.

From the article:
" The use of such devices by terrorists should be a serious concern, said Sharkey.
Captured robots would not be difficult to reverse engineer, and could easily replace suicide bombers as the weapon-of-choice. "I don't know why that has not happened already," he said. "
Um, because, if folks saw a robot rolling into a marketplace in Baghdad, chances are, they'd figure out it wasn't there to buy fruit.
People are cheaper and less conspicuous... And, apparently, quite easy to program.

Oh, definitely. In the pilot (or maybe epi 2), Sarah referred to Cameron as "the Tin Man" from the Wizard of Oz. And what did the Tin Man want? A heart.
Since Cameron is apparently a different kind of Terminator, perhaps she has the capacity for some sort of morality or code of ethics as well ... and that may be what keeps her from becoming unredeemably bad.
PS. Michael Biehn was also Johnny Ringo in Tombstone. He and Val Kilmer (as Doc Holliday) stole the show. "I'm your huckleberry."
Yeah I have that on dvd...it was Val Kilmer's greatest role imho....and Michael played a fantastic bad guy "Evidently, Mr. Ringo's an educated man. Now I really hate him." Doc Holliday

No, she is very human. I think Cameron was just covering bases. The latina had shown her skills at tracking people and Cameron was just reminding her of how they deal with threats. Handing her the pistol just reinforced that idea. She'd have to be pretty confident to issue a warning and then arm her...

Mar 5 2008, 02:51 PM
I thought that maybe Cameron was telling her to "self terminate" so she didn't have to kill her. I know that they didn't want any loose ends that a terminator or the feebs could track down and find them with like good ol' enrique and the nephew.

Umm. Hussies...
From my understanding, it isn't too terribly expensive to produce. There isn't a large cast and most of the actors aren't very well known. There isn't a lot in the way of special effects and props. A great example is when the squad of agents tried to take out Cromartie. All you really saw was bleeding guys splashing down in the pool. It was different, it conveyed what was going on very well and was a lot cheaper than shooting a massive gun battle. It cost them a door, a pool cleaning, what ever it costs to do that metal exoskeleton under the skin effect and however much it cost to lease that motel for the shot. And all the props could be returned without repairing the squib damage to show the agents getting shot, any necessary CGI, etc.
The ratings, while not stellar, haven't been bad, especially with key demographic groups. The season's finale did pretty well.

One of your complaints was that they hadn't been able to reverse engineer a T-800 model that was in a plane crash, and her being a T-1000 an all, she told this to the FBI guy, why would she tell him the truth? with a bit of help from her, pointing people in the right direction, they could have advanced very far with the bits that they had.

That's bullshit. She's a robot, and Skynet could've easily programmed her with the knowledge required to build a T-800
from scratch, much less reverse-engineer one. Not only that, why isn't
she out to kill John Connor herself? So, we're either going to wind up with a bunch of "conscience-issue Cylons," or big plotholes (of which there are already several).
The show sucks.

Oh, don't get me wrong... despite the enormously huge plot hole that kick-started the series, I rather liked the first season. Unfortunately, you can tell that even the producers were surprised it got picked up for season 2, and the scramble for sustainable plot is obvious. This is almost exactly what happened to BSG, so I imagine that, unless the writers of T:TSCC get a handle on things within the next one or two episodes, the show isn't going to make it... unless SciFi picks it up, anyway.
