I love it, did anyone see that Galactica was on the TV they walked by in the town.

Katee Sackhoff is the worst thing to have happened to American Television, ever.

DM, I don't know if you're kidding about Katee Sackhoff or not, but I'm getting tired of you bashing her every chance you get.

Dirk Benedict in a tu-tu singing "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" in Times Square? (Ok, I made that last one up. Still...) I mean, c'mon dude... there's no way she's that bad.

What was it, specifically, that you disliked about her performance as whats-her-name in BW? Or, I guess, also as Kara Thrace?

I actually like this series. I like the cast (yes, the whole cast) and think they are doing a great job.

I thought it was funny that BSG was playing on the tv in the town...my hubby busted out laughing and asked if I had seen it.

DM is allowed to have an opinion, even if it is unpopular, and we are all free to do rebuttal. However, he should give a reason why. That way there is a foundation that will enable room for rebuttal, and not just what looks like a verbal attack for no apparent reason.

Why is it fine for a few dozen fans to blather on about how "Katee kicks ass" or some silly thing like that, but wrong for me to announce that I think she is terrible?



I suppose I should qualify that by calling her the worst thing to happen to scripted television in the new millenium.

Her performance as Sarah Corvis on BW is just atrocious. Her facial contortions that pass for emoting make her look like she is soiling herself as she chews and spits out her lines.

LOL! I actually like that DM hates her acting! I dont' agree with him, but you can tell by his tone of typing that he feels passionate about it. But, I still find her very believeable. Every bionic woman I've ever met has behaved in exactly that way (well, every 1.0 version anyway. Thank God for version 2.0!)

I'm still trying to figur eout how Sara has been getting upgrades!

DM's crazy constant over the top criticism of KS is hilarious to me. Sure I know he doesn't like her performances but at the same time he is trying to make it funny by using hyperbole.

Plus it does say "Crotchety Old Man" under his avatar

At this point, I think that Katee is the much better actress of the two. I just watched the third episode, and I'm not feeling it for Jaime. She's hot, dont' get me wrong. but she doesn't appear comfortable in her role IMO.

I have to admit I was very disappointed in the show. I would say in very big part due to the miss writing and casting of the Jamie summers character. She frankly is just not that interesting... lol I would have been much more interested in a show that revolved around the Sara character dealing with her decent into madness caused by her experimentations and manipulations. But oohhh well It was not meant to be.

I have to disagree, I actually liked the jamie character.

I liked her character, she was alright.
I wouldn't want to hang out with her though.

Sara should have her own show though, she kicks SO MUCH FUCKING ASS!

Well it is Katee, and she is awesome.

And this ^^^^^^^ is exactly what im talking about ... The Summers character is OK ... I like her to but for the central character of a tv show that is very luke warm.

This is why casting Katee doomed the show.

Michelle Ryan is HOT!

She gets people (men mostly) to watch her and drool.
She doesnt' have to act, simply because she is so smoking hot.

Katee is just a one note actor. She doesn't emote and deliver lines so much as she chews them up and spits them out.

If Katee had the fanbase that would keep BW afloat if she were the lead, then BSG would be getting more than 1.5 million households a week, and would go on forever.

Katee is just not a big enough of a phenomena to carry a show.

I agree with the Michelle Ryan part

I find it sad that people complain about the quality of shows, but then watch shows that they find pretty crappy just because the lead is 'hot'

Now Michelle Ryan is a good actress(she was awesome in Jekyll) but the character is just incredibly dull and the lead shouldn't be a boring character, since that's the one we see all the time.

I don't like the show dcause she is hot, I like it cause I thought it was good. I am not one of those people that tear apart shows. I take them for what they are and enjoy them.

I didn't really think you did, since you've been in this conversation the whole time and talking about what you thought about it, but Darth is the one suggesting that's why she should be the lead, basically suggesting that that's the only thing that attracts viewers or at least male ones.

It's stupid.
No one should watch a show based on the attractiveness of the characters.
If you love the show and they just happen to be hot, well hey that's a bonus.

I do to Russy but when the main chracer is dull... she is dull.

Nothing is dull about Ryan, and nothing is interesting about Sackhoff.

From the first monets of the pilot with Katee butchering her pathetic lines, I realized that once again she was cast for some incomprehinsible reason tah thas nothing to do with acting abilities.

Jamie is really boring. She speaks boringly, she moves boringly and slow.
The only time she's actually cool is when she's beating someone up.
Her storylines with omg my sister, or omg my new boyfriend, must risk everyone's life and my $100,000 to go rescue his sorry ass, annoyinggggg and dull.

The episodes with Sara? MUCH better.

I thought she was interesting, I also loved the episode where she had her british accent. I think that some of the stuff that has considered her boring has to be attributed to the fact that the character is in a new life all together. She just found out her fiancee had a huge file on her, and not to mention the fact that she is a superwoman and dealing with all that crap. I think things would have changed if they gave the show a chance.

But for me to hear people claim that "Katee should have been cast as the lead" makes me laugh.

Some fans would accept Katee reading the same lines, and most likely praise the same patheyic dialog coming from her.

I thought the acting and character were fine in the mini, okay in "33" but as early as Can't Go Home Again.Acts of Contrition, I thought the character was running the series down.

In Hand of God, Starbuck was okay as a character again, but then the writing staff went back to dragging the show down with her.

Darth is a major Katee hater. He is the leader of the club.

Back in the beginning of the remake fandom, all good "Ginoids" defended Katee from those who had issues with "Starbuck is a girl?"
I was no exception.

But, the fandom was just not so predominated by fans for whom Katee/Kara was such a dominant issue. As the episodes roled off and the writer's focus on this boring, predictable, and poorly written and acted character, more and more of those who enjoyed season one began to find other things to do with their time , my dislike for Katee's portrayal increased.

Katee killed the show.

Oh believe me I'm not much of a Starbuck fan either, I just had a feeling you definitely weren't.
Starbuck was cool. She could've been an idol for me: A girl kicking all the guy's asses.
But then she just became this drunk, depressing character and I didn't care or like her anymore.
She's been that way continually for me, only recently with this whole 'from the dead' sort of thing does she *seem* more like her original self. I'm still not sure if she will be as such though.

I don't see how her being in a new world and discovering massive secrets should ever be boring... quite the opposite in fact and yet they managed it ...

It seems like s4 might be bringing the emo to begin with just judging by the commercials.
That seems rather annoying, but I guess I shouldn't expect everyone to follow her considering in BSG world if someone comes back from the dead, it's not a miracle or ascension, it's the fact they are a cylon, so I can understand.
It's just ugghhhh more emotional turmoil I don't much care about.

I actually liked the show...it was entertaining and I liked Isaiah Washington's character in it as well. I liked how he pushed Jamie to become better at dealing with what she was. Too bad they killed his character off. I wanted to see where they were going to go with this show.
