No seriously, look at her big boobs and not some skinny hollywood freak chic. She is a normal sized woman with great boobies.

Hey Russ you need to watch more BBC productions they use real women that are hot but would never make it in Hollywierd wink.gif
russant
I will definately have to think about that. Hmm I think I actually have that channel. I wonder if that show is on there. If not just have to find a copy somewhere on the AL GORE Web.

I totally agree! I'm tired of seeing all these ematiated waifs!

Love the BBC productions just wish they lasted a wee bit longer.

I thought the same thing, especially about Life on Mars. But think about this Life on Mars was only 16 episodes but it is 15 and a half Hours, basically 8 full length feature films wink.gif

Yeahhh but put the price tag on.
Atlantis with it's 22 episodes is a hell of a lot cheaper per season than Life on Mars with it's 8.
God that was an awful expense.
But I still love the show and my dvds.
SGKoneko
Oh I guess I should say something about Robin Hood.
Why is this show so good, it's not fair!
All the good shows come from England!

And I don't have time to download them all!

Robin Hood, Top Gear, Torchwood, Doctor Who, etc. etc.
Lame.
EldarKinSlayer
I just watched Episode 1, quite well done, I am looking forward to seeing more.
DarthMarley
It was good up until the last episode of S2.
Which might as well be the last show of the series.

And over the course of last year, I acquired all available Doctor Who episodes.

Including the classics? I vaguely remember them from PBS and wasn't impressed, was surprised by the New Shows and I still miss Doctor 9

Everybody misses 9.

I'm quite happy with Ten but I do love the old episodes.
EldarKinSlayer
Just finished watching Season 1, great family entertainment. Historical inaccuracies abound, but very FUN show to watch.
DarthMarley
You will love it until the last episode of season two.

Classic Doctor Who is part of the deal. Even though the origin of the Daleks got retconed during the Tom Baker years.
russant
I started downloading season 1 today. Should have it in around 70 days.

Dude, Rapidshare is the way to go.

???!?!?!
I could have all of season 1 in a day.
With Megaupload's download limit however It'd be about 7 days.
But that's a hell of a lot better than 70!!

7 gig or so?

Seriously my downloads are painfully slow and I can get it that much in 3 days. That sounds a little odd to me.
The download time fluctuates constantly and picks up speed as time goes by have you checked it lately?

A season usually takes me about a week. I am dling season 2 first 2 episodes are done going to watch now biggrin.gif

If you have broadband, you need to see if you get any newsgroups as part of your ISP package.

Comcast gives 2 GB a month of Usenet, and it is a wonderful thing. That would be just 6 typical hour episodes, but they download in 10 minutes a piece.

I use an AT&T 3G Wireless Broadband Card in my laptop, approximately same speed as DSL but if I can get a digital signal on my cellphone I get Broadband internet on my Laptop. the thing that really slows me down is that I can't be connectible.

Maid Marian?! WTF?! I LOVED that character (and not for the same reasons the boys do, lol). She was smart, funny, brave & gorgeous in a real woman way. Gisburne was my fave (for the same reasons the boys like Marian, added to bad boys being my weakness) until that moment & now... sigh...

Worse yet is the rumor that another major character will be killed off by the end of next season... I'd say who, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone, so... well... it pisses me off royally! I just want to know if the departures are the actor's decisions or if they have some abysmally stupid writers...
DarthMarley
That was the actor's decision.
She thought she could get a Hollywood role if she just got out of S3.

See how that turned out for her?
unowhoandwhy
Other than some UK production called "U Be Dead" it looks like it hasn't worked out so well... Of course, she is only 20, I don't remember making the best decisions when I was that age, many years ago, or so it feels.
DarthMarley
She now has earned the reputation of being fickle, a casting choice that will kill a show.

Too bad, as she is a fabulous babe.
Rowan
I'm so angry with that turn of events I'm not even sure I want to watch season three after all how is that supposed to work?!
unowhoandwhy
Wait till (IF!!!) they get to Season 4, it will be even more ridiculously difficult. Although, I had heard rumors that...

...when Jonas Armstrong leaves that they might be bringing in a new Robin Hood, but that it is more likely that Richard Armitage's Gisburne would go through some major life change and take on the Hood mantle. From a business standpoint, it makes sense because Armitage has proved to be immensely popular and he is a good, steady, experienced actor who isn't as likely to fly away like Lucy (Marian) & now Jonas (Robin) have decided to do.

From a plot standpoint, I guess it could be interesting, although I really like Jonas' version of Robin. Perhaps Gisburne will suffer through all of next season over what he did to Marian and take on Hood's mantle as penance? ...stranger things have happened, I suppose!

And yes, I am the ultimate spoilerphobe still, so I shouldn't know all that, but I went looking for a reason why they killed Marian and found those bits as well.
Rowan
Well I can totally understand why he would leave - without ........ it's kind of stupid, the man recongnises a drowning ship when he sees one. Can't say I blame him. Although that would completly spell the end for me as those were really the only two characters that I liked. The sherif and Gisbourn are great but they don't keep my heart involved. They are the bad guys, there to torment me and frustrate me, I don't come back every week to see how they are doing, if they survived, did they escape etc.

unowhoandwhy
Gisburne is my favorite, I have such a weakness for bad boys, especially tall, dark & dangerous ones!

Besides, I adored Richard Armitage long before Robin Hood started airing. He caught my eye as the Handsome Stranger that the Vicar ends up marrying in "The Vicar of Dibley" and then stole my heart in "North & South".

When someday I am single again ... we would be the perfect pair to go looking for men! I like Blond, Blue eyed and short (no taller than 5' 9")! I have also come to appreciate and prefer good men with big hearts LOL wink.gif

Ok now I have to go check out "The Vicar of Dibley"!! I've never seen "North and South" either.

Ok now I have to go check out "The Vicar of Dibley"!! I've never seen "North and South" either.

Vicar of Dibley is hilarious, it's about a short, overweight female vicar in a very small & quirky village. She seems to be doomed in love until the very last couple of shows where she meets a tall, handsome stranger... it is very sweet & incredibly silly.

North & South is based on a book by Elizabeth Gaskell who has been placed near the top of the list of my all-time fave authors, just below Jane Austen. The authors have some similarities in their background & upbringing, which translates in some ways to their style. Gaskell was born not long before Austen passed away. No one will ever replace Mr. Darcy, ever, as far as I am concerned, but John Thornton is a another one of my fave literary crushes.

The one thing that I do like better about Gaskell's writing (and I feel as if I am being blasphemous!) is that she was no sheltered virgin like Austen. She was married & had kids and was not just genteely poor at points in her life, but genuinely poor. She writes about men & the poorer classes of society in a way that shows she understood them and that allows you to understand them as well. I totally recommend her, even if you don't get around to watching the miniseries. Elizabeth Gaskell

Back OT, does anyone think they should bring the Joker back because he was such a good character & they left it so open-ended? Or, do they feel (as I do) that no one could do the Joker quite the way Heath Ledger did & they should let both the actor & the character RIP?
DarthMarley
Season 3 is actually much better than I expected.

Even without my favorite reason to watch.

Marian, I take it?

She's odd to me... sometimes I think she's uber-gorgeous, other times I think she's bleh. Oh, well, she's got money... that seals it for me. laugh.gif

I remember that one. I thought Sean Connery's kid was Robin Hood, though.

And the new series is good. It's a bit too "pop" for my taste, but I dig it. And the scene of Marian's death was brilliant, sap as it was.
