I remember that one. I thought Sean Connery's kid was Robin Hood, though.

And the new series is good. It's a bit too "pop" for my taste, but I dig it. And the scene of Marian's death was brilliant, sap as it was.

No he took over the role in the third series, Mike wanted to make it big in hollywood and left the series by having himself killed off, SC replaced him as the "new" Robin by Herne the Hunter.

Ah. So the "Robin replacement" has a precedent. Sort of like a medieval Dr. Who, eh?

Well quite.

Have there been any successful King Arthur series there lately?

Had to look up who Anthony Head is.

I don't think it's been picked up by BBC-A yet. Then again, since Dragons' Den went on hiatus and Last Restaurant Standing wrapped up, I haven't watched BBC-A much.

Merlin will air on NBC starting 21JUN09.

I think of the show as Camelot babies, as the focus is teen oriented, not unlike Roswell.
Still, it is an enjoyable show, though it diverges widely from the established story.

NBC, eh? Let the new British Invasion begin!

Eh... I'm not seeing success for it here, but here's hoping I'm wrong.

At this time, I track 3 UK shows currently airing. Primeval and RH air on Saturdays and Ashes to Ashes on Mondays.

Yeah, but not on networks. I'm guessing if Merlin fares poorly on NBC, BBC-A will pick it up.

Just another re-interpretation of the Arthurian myth cycle. Right, Wolfe? =^[.]^=

S3 of Robin Hood brought an end to this interpretation.

3 good years of television.

I caught the end of the last episode and it looks like they have totally ended the series, what with the death of the main villians as well as the hero.

A rather spoilery detail, don't you think.

But I don't expect a 4th season.

Well I did think about that, but who else watches the show here?
