Joss is whistling in the graveyard on this one.
Good show or not, F*X is gonna screw him on this one, again. ='[.]'= -------------------- The enjoyment of any good thing is only enhanced by sharing it with others.

The only way Fox can shock me is allowing this show to survive.
Honestly, Wheadon shouldn't complain, his product was mediocre at best and he cannot download all the responsabilities on the network. |

I'm a fan of Whedon's, but I am averse to blindly approving everything ANYBODY does. And, IMHO, when you only have a guaranteed 13 eps, you shouldn't make the audience wait 6 of them for the show to "start" getting good.
Plus it's still a creepy premise. ='[.]'= -------------------- The enjoyment of any good thing is only enhanced by sharing it with others.

Basically, these people created a large umbrella organization in order to create perfectly brainwashed subjects to..."give people what they need"? So far what we have seen are basically prostitution mission, like the dominatrix engagement of the latest episode, that can be performed by any "professional" on the market that likes her own job, and usually in S&M they LIKE it. I don't understand why rich people would spend much, much more to have something that can be found everywhere... the only exception are the sleeper bodyguard and infiltration missions, where the use of the dolls would be more suitable, but yet, this is a job more appropriate for a governative agency like CIA... BTW, the sleeper mode has striking resemblances to what is portrayed in a old movie of the 70s, called Telephon: the story of sleeper KGB agents in the US that are activated by a phone call. Anybody remember that one? |

@Alex: They've hinted that what we see is what funds the Dollhouse but is not the true purpose of it, that there is some other purpose. Whoever has been sending the Dolls to go talk to Paul (Helo :p) has been telling him this. To find the real purpose. That purpose has not been revealed yet.
My guess is it's something to do with Rossum Corporation's experiments with the human brain. -------------------- The smartest person in every room is the person not defending his/her ego. - Bitsy Boo

Anyway since they're able to reprogram a brian they should have make experiments enough. |

Gosh-- based on the ep at the university-- the one with both the 'memory drug' AND Susan's discovery of 'embryonic research'... I'm getting a couple of clues as to what the 'real purpose' might be...
Think prisons- wipe a criminal, re-program, and poof! No need for prisons... and yes, the premise has 'been done' before. Not like this, however. The Rossum Corp. is using the entire world as its little oyster, the implication of doll houses around the world-- and the amount governments would pay to eliminate the cost of prisons... take a look at any state budget, and you'll get the idea. In addition, The obvious 'spy v. spy' uses- it is almost too cliche'... which is why I imagine Joss has saved a real twist for last... Except-- The point of Miranda was to "make the world a better place." With that as the premise, we get genetic engineering... plus the mind wipe and 'imprint technology that opens up a whole new can of ... Ray's right... creepy. Anybody been watching the news, lately-- Joss isn't that creepy. -------------------- You can't stop the signal, Mal

But Ray have you even been enjoying the show so far this season? I admit I liked little bits here and there like the Whiskey storyline, which sadly is getting sidelined since Amy Acker has other commitments, but the Echo of the week stuff has been rather lame. The lactating psycho was mildly interesting at best and the blushing bride of Lee Adama was a truly horrid storyline. Really? They let
To be honest, I'm not so sure I want the show to survive. I've been a fan and I've been still trying to be one but it's not easy. I think they need to cut the bullshit and get back to Epitaph One. Fox is almost certainly going to pull the plug. Why wouldn't they? Even Skiffy is bragging that their show beat Dollhouse in ratings and they are a cable network. Being that the shows days are numbered stop pussyfooting around and get to the real plot so that when can actually have some closure when the inevitable cancellation happens. -------------------- The smartest person in every room is the person not defending his/her ego. - Bitsy Boo

Fox: “We’re going to run all the episodes” of Dollhouse
QUOTE Posted on 12 October 2009 by Bill Gorman “We’re going to run all the episodes,” said Fox scheduling chief Preston Beckman. “We’re not saying we’re happy with those numbers, or accept them, but we don’t have to overreact. During [November] sweeps we might have to jack up the numbers a little [with other programming], but we plan on completing the order for this show.” As for ordering additional episodes, or a third season, Fox says they will make that decision after the current run. Hmmm... That's pretty clear cut, yet ambiguous. =0[.]o= -------------------- The enjoyment of any good thing is only enhanced by sharing it with others.
