I've seen some ambitious fan films, including Trek, but this one is particularly impressive. Except for the fact that production values are not up to Hollywood, the story is pretty neat, and the casting is amazing! They managed to get Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig, as well as many other Trek alumni, to star, and you can tell they really enjoyed having center stage, for a change. It's just too bad they didn't get George Takei, as well.
