I think I remember stealing that FOX thing from a blog somewhere.
T:SCC is getting 8 million geeks a week. A little bit better than Prison Break ust before it. So, I would call it "on the bubble:" on FOX. -------------------- ![]() "Science is one cold hearted bitch with a 14 inch strap-on." |

I loved it! This is really moving right along, and not diappointing me.
I don't try to disect it, and bitch about the continuity issue. I am thinking it is the only "new" show I am watching on television now. -------------------- ![]() "Science is one cold hearted bitch with a 14 inch strap-on." |

So...tonight's ep. What did y'all think? KYLE REESE!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Sorry, had to get that out of my system. The ep last night was good, although for me there were one too many flash-forwards, but the story needed them so no big. Plus, we got Kyle in some of them, and a much better understanding of the circumstances surrounding the time-travel that takes place throughout the Terminator series. All-in-all I really like this show. John is starting to act like he has a brain in his head and isn't just your average angsty teenage boy. Sarah is kickass, as she should be and it looks like the character of Carmen will actually be getting some depth. It'll be nice for Summer to have a bit more to work with, besides just being a cute-but-freaky robot girl.. -------------------- Avatar by me. Banner by Chevy1.![]() |

I soo love this show.... I know I had originally had issues with the continuity but then thought it out and realized that when dealing with a story about time travel continuity will constantly change as the future keeps trying to change the past.
I do think Sara is handling Cameron wrong though and it could come back to bite her in the ass ... ton of foreshadowing in this ep about her going "bad" as she termed it. I am very excited about the addition of Kyle Resses's brother even if he is Brian Austen Green. Yeah the character of John has been imo the week point of the show so far but slowly we are seeing more of the man who will lead the human resistance. It will be a welcome change. -------------------- ![]() Siggy by Zimrahil_Gaeta |

Concidering where it had to start... I think it is moving right along.
I fear I missed an ep... it happens. I've tried watching on the net. I'm havin issues... anybody else? I love that Cameron is a little unknowable... how she was programed... what her actual purpose is remains a mystery. The fact that she pulled the module from last night's baddy... makes me wonder. Could be stuff worth knowing about the enemy's movements... locations/timelines/etc. The key to downloading same... without creatin' a ruckus... now... there's the rub. -------------------- You can't stop the signal, Mal

My thoughts on this week's ep:
- It was a shock to see Andy in Derek's flashback, but I loved how it worked out with Andy's work and death. Good stuff. - I love Cameron! She totally cracks me up. Though I think somebody ought to keep an eye on her, because if a reprogrammed Terminator can still go bad, you never know if the same'll happen to her. - It's interesting that the future John Connor doesn't really have any friends, not even among the human survivors. - I liked the fact that we got a peek at post-Judgment Day America in this ep. - I seriously hope Charlie doesn't die anytime soon. - Charlie's convo with Cameron was hilarious. -------------------- ![]() "There is happiness for those who accept their fate. Summer Glau was the main reason I started watching SCC. But she is not the reason I stayed (although she IS, predictably, fantastic). There have been some continuity issues, but overall I feel like these writers have a far better idea of where SCC is going in the long run than the writers for Bionic Woman. And I loved the flash-forwards in the latest epi. The balance of CGI and set was believable ... but the worst line in the whole epi was about Kyle Reese when Derek is asking what happened at Topanga and the skinny black dude was like "No one ever saw him again."
Ummm ... ok. He was SEEN, just not by YOU. That bugged me. KYLE REESE!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I have to wholeheartedly agree with you Ms. Jackson! I had such a crush on the original Kyle Reece. Still do to, lol. Michael Biehn <swoon> Such a hunka burnin' love.... Indeed. I adore Michael Biehn. He is one truly underrated actor. I was wondering, too, who they'd get to portray Kyle in SCC, so when he arrived onscreen, I was surprised that I recognized the guy. I knew his speech patterns, his rhythm, his tone of voice. Once upon a time, there was a great soap opera called General Hospital. (Unfortunately, its greatness has been much destroyed by an asshat head writer and an asshat central character, but I digress ...) On that soap was the iconic married couple Luke and Laura. They had a son named Lucky (whom the aforementioned asshat head writer apparently hates). The first (and best) actor to play him was Jonathan Jackson (who wisely left before the asshat head writer completely ruined the show) ... who has been seen most recently as Kyle Reese. Let's compare. ![]() ![]() Yep. Good casting. |

Ummm ... ok. He was SEEN, just not by YOU. That bugged me. Indeed. Wait a minit... it ain't over yet.... the idea that the event was playing in the single character's mind... that does play well, and still leaves space for a reveal. POV switches, and that is half the fun. I adore Michael Biehn. He is one truly underrated actor. I was wondering, too, who they'd get to portray Kyle in SCC, so when he arrived onscreen, I was surprised that I recognized the guy. I knew his speech patterns, his rhythm, his tone of voice. I support soaps as a work study program for actors and writers...For anything else... seriously, how many ways can an actor say a given line, and still demonstrate some continuity??? The seventh time is not the charm. Now, watching your favorite hunk or hunkette for an hour... with or with out that troublesome clothing... I get that, too.But a great soap? They on occasion, produce a terrific story line... But they don't really follow a character arch... they follow ratings' archs... and are beholden to advertisers more than a creative format. Really good actors learn and go on... if they've been there the whole time... I'm thinkin, fear of flying. Let's compare. ![]() ![]() Yep. Good casting. Really good actors learn and go on... if they've been there the whole time... I'm thinkin, fear of flying. I knew (when typing that) I was going to catch some guff for the "great soap opera" line ... but, really, GH - in its prime - WAS a great soap. It tackled an incredible organ donor s/l in the 80s and an HIV s/l in the early 90s. At that time (and for about five years after the HIV s/l), it was a socially aware soap that wasn't just hunky guys w/out shirts on and hottie chicks in tight, skimpy clothes - although there was that, too, and that didn't hurt, lol. The whole Luke and Laura s/l was revisited in the 90s as well regarding the way they originally got together - which was through rape. Their son - played by Jonathan Jackson - found out after his girlfriend was raped and that touched off another incredible s/l full of character development, social awareness - and strong, responsible writing. (And if I'm not badly mistaken, JJ won several daytime Emmys during that time.) At that time, GH's head writers did, indeed follow character arcs (development & complexity), not just mindless plot points to move the story along. The show had teeth. Then we lost Gloria Monty. Then we lost Claire Labine. And now we have Bob Guza - who incorporates all of the bad things people think about soaps and so much more heinousness - and Jill Farren Phelps. I really have nothing good to say about either of those two b/c they have taken that show and reduced it to a misogynistic, violence glorifying, dumbed-down, moronic ratings grab (at best) which I can't stand to watch anymore regardless of the hotness of some of the guys. (I'm trying to restrain my rant about how truly truly truly bad they are.) Anyway, my point in all of that was that Jonathan Jackson was one of those who learned and left (before GH turned into the mess it is now) and has done pretty well for himself, even if he hasn't made as big a splash as, say, Brad Pitt or Demi Moore. And, incidentally, Nathan Fillion (Malcolm Reynolds, Firefly) was on One Life to Live for several years before he, too, left. I am fully prepared to be roasted alive by you folk that love 'em. May I suggest a ginger sauce? Ah, I prefer deep frying to a roast. But bring on the ginger sauce! |

Regarding soaps, they are not my cup of tea.
And that is what pisses me off when writers get on an artistic high horse when the make what could be "relavent" prgrams like BSG stoop to teh common soapy denominator of "relationship drama." Daily soap writers churn out their product 5 days a week on a demanding production schedule. And as observed above, sometimes it is really good storytelling despite it not being 'higher art." To hear writers who put out a 13-26 episode order agonize about hte pace of doing that on a weekly schedule part time through the year, it just makes me chuckle. Unfinushed business was pure soap. Sure, it "answered question" but it only answered soapy questions that never really needed to be asked, except for the prior soap scum in previous poorly considered episodes. I am not opposed to eye candy and titilation, but if you want soaps, there is plenty on the dial to please you. To have genere shows imitate poorly the daily soap attributes, but do it on a much more lazy schedule, I just have no love or respect for that. -------------------- ![]() "Science is one cold hearted bitch with a 14 inch strap-on." |

Yeah I recognized him too a fan of GH in it's golden age ... I agree it was truly a great show and way above your ave soap... I do hope we get to see more of him on the show too.
As for Continuity errors not sure how having them in a show that in it's premises constantly screws around with time continuity works .. Well except for one that I am not sure how to resign myself to ... How the hell this John Conner conceivably turns out to look like Nick Stahl is just beyond me..... I do find it strange though in the flash forwards that we got not a hint about his wife and kids... -------------------- ![]() Siggy by Zimrahil_Gaeta |

I started watching The Doctors - way back when - until it went off the air. I got hooked on Another world back in 1977 - until it went off the air and I have been watching GH since just before Luke and Laura got married. They are the only three I've ever followed with any degree of interest. I have to agree with your take on GH. I can't believe what it's been turned into. It really was ahead of it's time with it's treatment of many issues. I remember Demi Moore when she first came on GH - she could not act at all it was painful to watch. I especially remember her crazy long hair!!!! Even Elizabeth Taylor guest stared on GH lol. I wasn't a big fan of the guy who played the first Lucky on GH. -------------------- Larocque6689 you're the BEST!!!
