It was classic! Classic example of a summer blockbuster action film! But, IMHO, this was one of the best ever. Maybe it won't be classic like, say Terminator, but funny, sexy, and stuffed full of hardcore giant robot action! Fox is hot, even with the stupid tattoos. I could have done without the "kids who know more about everything than the government experts", but at least the blonde was also hot with an accent. I know this: it is going to make alot of money; so, be prepared to see a few more Robot Action Movies appear in the future. Including Ronald D. Moore's script for "I, Robot II". -------------------- ![]() |

Seriously? The first one was just ok. Not what I really expected, but I don't see a sequel for that.
And, my bro-in-law says they are planning a Tranformers II. I don't know where he heard that from, or if it's even real. -------------------- ![]() |

I don't know where he heard that from, or if it's even real. Dude, they made a 155 plus million in the first 3 weeks a sequel was bound to happen. It has sequel potential written all over it. Time to recapture the magic... I, Robot is well nothing like the short stories that actually create the basics of what Asimov felt was at the heart of the story. There was a script also written by Harlan J. Ellison but it was shelved due to complexity supposedly! My guess is that I, Robot II will look and feel like Mission Impossible II after all Ronald D. Moore was part of that story process too. -------------------- ![]() |

When our forms of expression are reduced to profit margines are we not just expressing the corporate ethos of more money, more profit and everything else is meaningless? Are we not becoming the Drains not Brains society that Rome was 2000 plus years ago? Is cinema not our own Colosseum where we can vicariously experience the struggle of life and death from the safety of our seats? Now we have the ability to tell ourselves that it isn't real it is an abstraction but doesn't this abstraction of violence into a complex series of interactions on the screen ultimate form something in the viewer? Are we not just like the Colosseum goer looking to see an execution performed as sport when we look to the cinema to satsify our own cultural violence.

I Haven't had any time to go, so I only saw the blurry torrent of the movie, and I enjoyed it.
A few things: 1. have you seen the scene at the end of the credits? (spoiler: You see Starscream fly away) 2. I wish they didn't have the cussin' and the "masterbation" scene. That will keep my nephew from seeing it. maybe I'll edit it and show him THAT one...I was going to show him the original movie, but in that one BUMBLEBEE cusses! LOL 3. I'm a fan of T and A, but I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't in TF... 4. Optimus needs Bacon!!!!! |

I may have already said this but I'll say it again, I loved this movie. I saw it twice already.
It was a typical bay movie, lots of slow motion, military action, slow shots with the sun behind and shit blowing up, my idea of heaven. I'm sure they will make a sequel, this one was huge, and they could certainly do it story wise. -------------------- ![]() |

I also was not fond of the master-baiter scene. The language was not too bad for my little girl. I would have taken her if not for the nasty jrkoff talk (LOL!) Well, she will be 8 soon, so we'll see. The movie was VERY good IMO otherwise, and MUCH better than I thought it would be. I say run, don't walk to see it in DIGITAL!

Corny script, but I really wasn't expecting much. The CGI was amazing. That was the first time since I first saw Jurassic Park that my jaw hit the floor form the special effects.
Overall, it's everything anyone could ever want in a summer blockbuster movie IMO. -------------------- -Jonathan

Saw Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, today.
Turn off your brain, and you'll probably enjoy it. But don't pay too much attention to such interesting details as the door at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum (in Washington, DC) which opens out to a desert airplane graveyard, among other lesser gaffes. If you will be taking small children, please be aware that, in this film, EVERYONE swears. Bots, mom, dad... Oh, and they resort to showing humping dogs TWICE, plus a leg-humping Decepticon, and make a "fun" joke out of mom blithely eating a brownie sold at a college bake-sale in packaging plainly marked with a marijuana leaf, then acting even more stupidly than she did to begin with. Our hero, Sam, has the good judgment and memory skills of a moldy turnip, at least where his relationship with and the safety of his girlfriend are concerned. Lots of nifty fights, many obvious lifts from other movies (see if you can spot the Matrix rip-offs), and a meandering plot that could use about an hour's paring down. Two stars out of five (that's what you get when you insult my intelligence too often). I won't say not to go see it, and it is probably best experienced on the big screen, but I won't need to see it again in my remaining lifetime. ='[.]'= -------------------- The enjoyment of any good thing is only enhanced by sharing it with others.

Yeah, I'm hearing very bad things. Won't stop me from seeing it, but I'm sure I'll be disappointed. I am glad that Michael Bay is not slated to be helming the next the entry. I did find one thing rather curious... In most movies, if they mention an off-screen president, they just say "the president." In this one, they first present the president (unnamed) as obstacular and pusillanimous, as represented by his presidential-order-waving lackey who wants to shut the good guys' operation down. Then, when things hit the fan, mention is made of "president Obama" being moved to an underground bunker, and his bureaucratic lackey arrives to shut down the fight, indicating that the president's focus is on negotiating with the Decepticons. The surrender of the protagonist to the malevolent alien robots is described as "on the table," or words to that effect. I was surprised to see that in a Spielberg film. =0[.]o= -------------------- The enjoyment of any good thing is only enhanced by sharing it with others.

Then again, they made no effort to disguise Bush II as the President in the first film. -------------------- I'd rather be a Commodore than the lower half of a Rear Admiral any day.

I do intend to see it-- the cg effects are the point. I expected no story line, because the whole thing is a bloody marketing tool for toys. Toys.
No plot to toys-- but they do need to set up a reason for folks to "buy the whole collection"!! The CG does explain a lot- cheaper way to make a film then actual acting and stars & such. Matrix was pushing one set of limits... I intend to do what I always do- enjoy the ride... then pick it apart... but I will enjoy the ride. -------------------- You can't stop the signal, Mal

Then, aside from the unnecessarily crude language and blatant sexual innuendo in what amounts to a toy commercial, you should have no problems with this film. =^[.]^= -------------------- The enjoyment of any good thing is only enhanced by sharing it with others.

That did seem weird... except I think the whole movie thing as a money maker is directed toward twenty-somethings remembering their child hood toy/cartoon and sending them back for the 'updated version' at the stores-- bigger, shinier, newer car designs... etc. Which also speaks to the leg humping dog-bots. I never watched the cartoon, myself, but my son did. I couldn't stomach it any more than Speed Racer- dreck.
So, yeah, I'll remember that, like Meet the Fockers... it is pitched at hormone drenched young men... and look for how they do the effects. -------------------- You can't stop the signal, Mal
